A moment in time. A whole lotta life.

This one means more than I can really put into words.

My beautiful friend Sami is one of the most courageous, spirited, hilarious and wildly determined humans I know. She has been living with stage 4 liver cancer - but that is only one tiny part of her story, and it could never come close to defining the force of nature that she is.

Sami is pure sunshine. Cheeky, strong, stylish as hell and completely unapologetic about squeezing every last drop out of life.

So we made some pictures.

No big reason other than to mark this moment in time. Sami + Dan, exactly as they are. His bike. Her in the most EPIC Van Der Kooij dress. A little fashion, a little rock ’n’ roll, a lot of messing around — and that unmistakable Sami energy flying out of every frame.

What I love most is how much these photos feel like them. The attitude. The tenderness. The silliness. The way Dan looks at her. The way Sami somehow manages to make everything around her feel more alive.

Bold. Badass. Full of love. Full of life.
